Ruebel Hotel
Grafton, IL 62037
This hotel was built in 1879 and became the largest commercial hotel in the County. Back then, rooms went for $1 per day and guest also enjoyed that it had the finest saloon in town. The hotel continued to thrive, but in 1912 it caught on fire. Fortunately the hotel was quickly rebuilt, adding a restaurant on the 1st floor as well as a dance hall for the 2nd floor.
According to guests as well as staff of the hotel, the place is haunted by at least one spirit. Many have reportedly seen and even talked to a spirit of a little girl named Abigail. She's been seen in the upstairs hallway and at the top of the stairway.

I told my husband before we got to the room that i had a not so good feeling about the stairs. an hour later i was walking down them and it felt like i was pushed i missed three stairs and fell! i ran back up the stairs told my husband he laughed at me. That night his phone was doing strange stuff. Come morning i was missing the back to my earring that i had put in my make up case the night before! So yes that little girl likes taking small objects lol which i didnt even know about her till i got home and my husband looked up the hotel. but i know for sure that wasnt her on the stairs cause this entity i felt was not nice and apperently it didnt like me since they pushed me down the last few steps! i stayed in room 15

Room 9 has an exit light just outside and the red cast made the stain glass window look different at night. I tried to capture the image. Instead of capturing the image I captured 3 orbs and strange noises.

I stayed there a few years ago. the girl running the bar/resturant asked me the next morning if i heard anything. i said yes, it sounded like someone was moving furniture around.(i had woke up at 11pm to use the bathroom) that was when i heard the racket down the hall. she told me they all left at 8pm. there was only me in the hotel. If i had known at the time, i would have investigated!!
