Milton Schoolhouse
Alton, IL 62002
This historic building dates back to 1904 and operated until 1986 before it stood abandoned until the early 1990's. It re-opened as a decorative glass factory and is believed to be haunted by a schoolgirl named Mary. She was raped and murdered at the school when she was there late working on a project. A school janitor was pinned for the crime and was found hanged inside the school. People say that some eerie things happen here, including objects disappearing, shadowy figures, footsteps and unexplained sounds. A young girl's apparition has also been seen and may have even left X and O patterns on a worker's keyboard.

Reviews
They have great coffee here now, it is a really good-looking place. The lights will shut off by themselves and they flicker. The floors creak and doors open by themselves. I'm working here late on a project too...
