Kaskaskia Hotel
Lasalle, IL 61301
This historic hotel dates back to 1916 and is believed to be haunted. Locals tell the story of a young woman who committed suicide my jumping from the top floor in the 1920's, but some will say her boyfriend actually pushed her. Employees have heard the click of her heels in the halls, and the elevator has been known to work on its own. In 2001, the hotel closed. It was remodeled and it is now a hotel, museum and convention center.

I was on a walk in my hometown, and me and a friend thought it would be fun to look through a mail hole that a mailman puts mail through. When I looked through with my phone flashlight, then I saw it. A shadow moving through the dark building. I don’t know if I’m crazy or not but I’ve always had a bad gut feeling about it since.

I USED TO BARTEND FOR BIG OCCASIONS AT THE HOTEL, AND DID EXPERIENCE "ODD" OCCURRENCES. SUCH AS THE ELEVATOR OPENING ON ITS OWN . (THE PARTY WAS OVER, AND NOBODY WAS IN THE BUILDING EXCEPT MYSELF AND 1 OTHER PERSON CLEANING UP. ) ALSO WE HEARD MUSIC COMING FROM THE BALLROOM ON A DIFFERENT OCCASION. MUSIC MORE FORM THE 50'S. BUT NO ONE WAS IN THE BALLROOM AND THE PARTY HAD BEEN LONG OVER. AND THE USUAL CHILLS AND PARANOIA OF BEING WATCHED ALL THE TIME.

Hotel Kaskaskia is under new ownership and is being completely restored right now and will be reopened sometime in 2018
