The Country House of Clarendon Hills
Clarendon Hills, IL 60514
This roadhouse restaurant was built in 1922. It was originally the place of Emil Kobel. Kobel dreamed of having a place where locals could gather. The second floor was his family house while the first floor served as a tavern and grocery store. Later a picnic area was also built. Today it stands as a restaurant and bar, but many believe the place is haunted by spirits.
Reportedly a young woman died at the site in the 1950s when she got into an argument with the bartender who worked there at the time (he was her lover). She ended up killing herself when she rammed her car into a tree near the roadside. Some have reported seeing the apparition of this female hanging out at the property. She may occasionally also play pranks. Others account of hearing unexplainable pounding of the walls, the sound of crying babies, and the sound of footsteps.

While in the bathroom heard a click in the stall next to me but no one came out. We left immediately.
