Located in the Old Peoria State Hospital Historic District at 4500 Enterprise Drive, Bartonville, Illinois in the Historic Pollak Hospital Building.
The Peoria State Hospital Historic District, also known as Bartonville State Hospital or Illinois Asylum for the Incurable Insane, was a psychiatric hospital operated by the State of Illinois from 1902 to 1973. The hospital is located in Bartonville, Illinois, near the city of Peoria in Peoria County.
Our buildings, The Pollak Hospital ,was one of the last remaining buildings on the grounds of the asylum still in use.
During the hospitals years of operation, hundreds died and according to stories and eyewitness accounts, their spirits stayed behind to walk the hallways. Some visitors say, you can still feel the AURA of those patients still within the Pollak Hospital Building to this day!

I keep coming back! Love coming to Aura each year since it’s opened. It honestly just keeps getting better! Some of what I call the staple characters are still there but new ones too. makes it exciting and new each time. The whole experience, from start while waiting in line down to the end at the gift shop, is the best! The scarers are amazing and the staff at the booth and gift shop so nice. LOVE when Scary Gary is there. Cant wait for next year!

If you are in central Illinois and make your way to Peoria. This haunted house impressed us.
Aura has amazing lighting effects, but some of the areas are very dimly lit. So watch out as the actors use this to get you when you don't expect it. Its awesome.
The creepy sounds in there worked well in the actors favor. All of scary parts were enhanced with low fog levels and low lighting. The amazing details in each room made us think we were in a real haunted building. Which we were lol
At the end of this amazing haunted house you come into their awesome gift shop with lots of cool Halloween and haunted house stuff and a ton for stations to take selfies with a few actors willing to pose with our group.
Over all this is defiantly a Top 10 Must See Haunted House and we will be retuning year after year to see the changes they make.

The location and building are perfect because of the history. The value and prices were very reasonable. We virtually had no wait time. The rooms were unique and had tons of different themes. The attraction had an abundance of well trained actors. By far the best haunted house in central Illinois.

Loved the detail not knowing the real from the props. About jumped out of my skin every time I went around a corner. Our group never screamed so much, it was awesome! Definitely a Must See Haunted House!
