Located in the Old Peoria State Hospital Historic District at 4500 Enterprise Drive, Bartonville, Illinois in the Historic Pollak Hospital Building.
The Peoria State Hospital Historic District, also known as Bartonville State Hospital or Illinois Asylum for the Incurable Insane, was a psychiatric hospital operated by the State of Illinois from 1902 to 1973. The hospital is located in Bartonville, Illinois, near the city of Peoria in Peoria County.
Our buildings, The Pollak Hospital ,was one of the last remaining buildings on the grounds of the asylum still in use.
During the hospitals years of operation, hundreds died and according to stories and eyewitness accounts, their spirits stayed behind to walk the hallways. Some visitors say, you can still feel the AURA of those patients still within the Pollak Hospital Building to this day!

Special Events
BlackOut is a self guided walkthru of the attraction, with lights out! You will be provided with a glow stick. While it does have lighting for safety, you will spend most of the haunt in the dark, wondering what is lurking in the blackness.

Went last Friday night and thought we'd be waiting forever, but the line moved a lot quicker than we thought. The props looked so real that we kept stopping to figure out if something was actually going to move. There were a couple of rooms where I caught myself slowing down because I had no idea what was real and what wasn't.
The actors really got into it and made it great. You never knew where they were going to jump out of and they got us good many times! You can tell they put a lot of effort into the sets because every room felt different.
Highly recommend!

Such a fun haunt! I figured I'd make it through without reacting too much, but that plan didn't last long, lol. The makeup and costumes looked fantastic and really sold the whole experience.

My daughter has been asking to visit for years, so we finally checked it out. It ended up being just as much fun for me as it was for her. The scares were well timed, but I found myself admiring the sets just as much because there was so much to notice. Great work.

Check-in was quick, the waiting area was actually comfortable, and there were plenty of new scenes that I don't remember from before. Nothing felt rushed, which gave you time to take everything in.

First impression? Great! The crew outside kept everyone entertained while the line moved along. And once the doors opened it was nonstop scares. Something was always happening, someone always popping out, and I got scared way more often than I'd like to admit. That's really saying something because haunted attractions usually don't get to me.

I brought my two kids, and all three of us love it. The asylum felt believable instead of over the top. Every room felt unique and creepy. I appreciated that they built suspense instead of relying on constant jump scares. Best of all, no waiting in line.

We drove over an hour to get here and it was worth every minute, great set designs and attention to detail. The wife and me are already planning on going again next year!

Headed here with a big group of friends and we all had a blast. The actors never broke character once, and a few of them had us completely fooled thinking they were props. Definitely going back.
